Health & Safety: Safety Messages

November 6th, 2016

"Stay Alert & Stay Safe!"

The NYPD is taking the current threat of terrorism seriously. In addition, there is a concern for protests in Times Square and other locations coinciding with Tuesday's elections. Therefore, the department has increased staffing to 5 firefighter engines in all 1st and 3rd Division companies from Monday - Wednesday.

Additional staffing may be increased if warranted. Additional units will be activated as well as the Borough Task Force team.

Those members that work in a division task force company will be offered OT in the Borough Task Force. It will be other OT not subject to any redlines.

In these times we remind all members
  • Remain alert at all times.
  • Exercise Vigilance when responding to and operating at all emergencies.
  • Report any suspicious activity to your officer and/or the NYPD.
  • Do not unnecessarily expose yourselves to danger.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of the membership is our priority.
  • Remember to continue to make it yours!
