  1. Support Lt. Joe Ginley for Warwick Valley Central School District
    Lt. Joe Ginley of Ladder Company 59 is currently seeking a position in the Warwick Valley School District. Joe and his wife have resided in Warwick for the past 7 years and have 3 children in the Warwick School System. Over the years, Joe has become increasingly active in various aspects of the community and has a serious interest in the future of the School System. Including family members, there are currently 10 Ginley children in total enrolled in the school district, with more on the way. All UFA members residing in the eligible zip codes of 10990, 10969, 10981 & 10912, who will be affected by the outcome of the election, are asked to get out and vote for Joe on May 16th. He is also being supported by the UFOA in this election.

  2. American Heart Association's Wall Street Run & Heart Walk
    Wed. May 17th, 2006 to help raise vital funds to support research and education in cardiovascular disease and stroke -- the #1 and #3 causes of death in the United States. This event is one of the Pre-qualifiers for the New York City Marathon. To register: go to www.heartwalk.kintera.org/nyc - Click on “Register” - Click “I agree” - Select “Join a Team” - Select FDNY from the drop-down menu - Click “Select.” - Scroll down and select “Join team” to the right of “FDNY Team.” Now you’re on the page asking for your personal information.   3. Jack Fanning Foundation – Angels for Autism Dinner / Dance
    Fri. May 19th, Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation will hold the 3rd Annual Dinner Dance at North Hill Country Club, Manhasset. Event raises money for the Jack Fanning Foundation, which makes an immediate difference in the lives of those affected by autism.   4. FDNY - NYPD Football Game
    Saturday May 20th, 2 PM at Floyd Bennett Field. Flatbush Avenue and Belt Parkway. Come and support the FDNY team as they battle the cops.

  5. Billy Lake / Jimmy Riches Memorial 5K Run
    Sun. May 21, 2006, at 10:30 am, the 5th annual 5K run will be held honoring the memory of Billy Lake, R-2 and Jimmy Riches, L-114. The run will begin at Harbor Fitness, located at 92nd Street and 4th Avenue, Brooklyn. Pre-registration is $12 by mail. Race day registration is $15 starting at 8:30 am. Entry fee includes T-shirts. All proceeds fund the FDNY Burn Center and the Jimmy Riches Scholarship Fund at Xavier High School.   6. LT. John Clancy / FF Jimmy O’Shea Golf Outing
    Thurs. May 25th at Middle Island Country Club. Registration limited. The earlier the better!! The event will award ten (10) $1000 scholarships to student children of FDNY members.   7. 5th Haskell Brothers Golf Outing / Dinner Dance
    Thurs. May 25th at Lido Beach Golf Club, Lido Beach, NY. Dedicated to the memory of brothers Timothy and Thomas Haskell who gave their lives in the performance of duty on 9/11. This year the event is raising funds for the FF Transport Foundation and the Honor Legion. The event sells out quickly each year.

  8. Intrepid Tug-O-War Contest

  9. 9/11 Family Liaisons Luncheon
    Fri. September 8th for all 9/11 family liaisons, CSU Peers, Bag Pipe Members, Ceremonial Unit members after 9/11. Taking place at Sequoia Restaurant in the South Street Seaport at 11:30 AM.   10. Paddy Skeehill’s All-Stars Softball Tourney
    Sat. June 3rd the 11th and final tourney in memory of FF Paddy Skeehill E40 / L35 taking place at Van Cortlandt Parade Grounds (25th Street and Broadway) beginning at 9 AM.
