4-Alarm Fire Rages In The Bronx

BRONX (CBS) - Chopper 2 HD was live over a four-alarm fire in the Norwood section of the Bronx Monday morning.

The massive fire began in the basement of a store front at 291 East 204th Street and Bainbridge Avenue just after 4:30 a.m.

Several crews of firefighters were on the scene battling the large blaze. Two tower ladders were in operation.

There are no reports of injuries as a result of the blaze, but several buildings appeared to have sustained severe to complete damage. It is unknown how the fire started.

The early morning wind may have complicated rescue efforts against the blaze.
