Bronx Fire Destroys 14 Businesses

NEW YORK (AP) - Fourteen small businesses in the Bronx were destroyed in a five-alarm fire that raged for hours overnight.

Nearly 200 firefighters were on hand to battle the blaze, which started at 3 a.m. in the borough's Norwood section.

Four firefighters were treated for bumps and bruises, according to a fire department spokesman.

It took more than five hours to put out the blaze.
