Everyone Knows Firefighters Can Cook - And Manhattan's Bravest Are No Exception.
The FDNY showed again they are no slouches in the kitchen at this weekend's Daily News 5 Alarm Cook Off, held at the Food and Finance High School in Manhattan.
"Everything was good, but the Asian spring rolls had all the right ingredients," said Salvatore Rizzo of Macy's DeGustibus Cooking School.
"I was expecting chili," said judge Marc Murphey of Landmarc Restaurant who also acts a judge for the the Food Network's show "Chopped!"
The chef-testants will all appear on the "Rachael Ray Show" on Nov. 13.
The winner of each borough cookoff scored a 52-inch flat panel television for their firehouse, courtesy of Best Buy Electronics. The cookoff is sponsored, in part, by the Municipal Credit Union.
