1. Chief Ray Downey Heroes Football Classic
The 5th Annual Ray Downey Heroes Classic football game will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2006. The Division 1-AA football game will be played at the University of Stony Brook, Suffolk County, NY. The Stony Brook Seawolves will play the Sacred Heart Pioneers at 1:00 pm. Ticket prices are $5 when you present your FDNY ID card. 2. FF Raymond York Memorial (6K) Run/Walk
The Firefighter Raymond R. York Memorial 6K run/walk will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11:00 am. Registration and parking is available at American Legion Hall located at 209 Cross Bay Blvd., Broad Channel, where transportation will be provided to the race. The Registration fee is $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for Children. Post race awards party (food, beverages, music, raffles) immediately following race. 3. Anchor Club Visit to Calvary Hospital
The Anchor Club, FDNY, is sponsoring a "Visit to Calvary Hospital" located at 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY on Sunday, October 22, 2006. The outline for the day includes visiting with each of the patients, distributing candy and flowers, and providing some light entertainment. All off-duty members, their families and friends are invited to participate. The visit will start at 1200 hours and end at approximately 1600 hours. 4. Iron Skillet Cook Off
Monday, October 30th, 2006, World Cares Center hosts its premier fundraiser, the Iron Skillet Cook Off (5 NYC Firefighters vs. 5 top NYC Celebrity Chefs) from 6 pm to 10 pm at Strata Restaurant, located on 915 Broadway and 21st Street in Manhattan. The firehouse that sells the most tickets to this fiery culinary competition will win a party for thirty, with beverages provided by Brooklyn Brewery and music by KTU radio. Tickets are available online at www.ironskilletcookoff.org. Ticket Price: $150. Please make sure to indicate the name of your firehouse under the question: "Where did you hear about the event?" All proceeds go directly to World Cares Center to support its on going programming helping those affected by the attacks of 9/11 and other disasters. 5. 1st Annual Captain Patrick Brown Memorial Fundraiser

6. Holy Name Society (Man, Bx, S.I.) H.S. Scholarship
Dec 2nd at 8:30am, Sacred Heart School, 457 W 51st St, NY. 6 awards - highest score for a boy and a girl, next two highest scores either gender. $1,000 per yr for 4 yrs toward tuition to a Catholic HS. One 1/3 scholarship for a boy to Fordham Prep HS in the Bronx. One $100 award to the widow of a deceased HNS member. 8th graders, who are sons and daughters, brothers and sisters and grandchildren of members in good standing (including deceased members).
