NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- Firefighters have helped rescue people stuck on the fourth floor of a Bronx apartment building after a stairwell landing collapsed, injuring a man.

The Buildings Department says the marble landing between the building's third and fourth floors collapsed around 2 p.m. Sunday. The four-story building is on East 187th Street a few blocks west of the Bronx Zoo.

The Fire Department says a man was treated for minor injuries.

Inspectors from the Buildings Department were at the scene and determined that the building is stable. But they cited the owner for failing to maintain the building.
