A Port Richmond man has been arrested for viciously attacking an off-duty firefighter inside the Staten Island Ferry terminal, police said.

Raheem Turner, 20, of the 200 block of Jewett Avenue, was picked up by authorities on Friday and charged with felony assault for his alleged beating of Matthew Dugan.

Dugan, 34, a three-year veteran of Ladder Co. 15, was walking with his girlfiend in the Whitehall Street terminal around 1:30 a.m. Monday when the woman fell on some stairs.

Turner and two friends - a man and a woman - started laughing, and when Dugan told them to stop he was hit by Turner, according to police.

Dugan was taken to Beekman Hospital where doctors performed emergency surgery for head injuries.

Investigators honed in on Turner through a video linking him to the Staten Island motorcycle club, "N2 Deep," according to a published report.
