UFA Sports Chairman / Bronx Trustee Eddie Brown announces that all active and retired Firefighters are invited to compete in the World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) 2007. Thousands of competitors participate from over 70 nations every two years in 65 different sporting categories. The FDNY has typically been represented by 100 to 250 athletes, plus their families, at this event in many places, including Stockholm, Sweden; Barcelona, Spain; Quebec City, Canada; Indianapolis, USA; Calgary, Canada; and more. Competition categories range from table tennis, golf and billiards to ice hockey, softball, boxing and much more. There are sports for all competitor levels - and many event awards are segmented by age categories. To view the 2007 events schedule, see event requirements, or to register, go to www.2007wpfg.org.
