A thug was busted last night for badly beating an off-duty firefighter who was defending his girlfriend at the Staten Island Ferry terminal, officials said.
Sources said Rasheem Turner, 20, of Staten Island, admitted hitting Matthew Dugan, 34, on Sept. 7 when the three-year veteran of Ladder 15 told him to back off.
Dugan was steamed after Turner and two cohorts began laughing at his girlfriend when she fell walking up the stairs at the Manhattan terminal at 1:30 a.m.
"When they laughed, he told them to grow up," said a witness. "They said, 'Shut the f- - - up before we beat you up!' "
The badly injured firefighter was rushed to Beekman Hospital where doctors performed surgery.
Investigators found Turner through video linking him to a Staten Island motorcycle club, "N2 Deep," sources said.
Turner allegedly said that his cohorts did not hit Dugan. Charges were pending.
