A "beautiful" infant girl was abandoned along an upper East Side street Sunday by her father during a quarrel with the girl's mom, police said.
The dingbat dad drove away after placing the little girl - believed to be about 18 months old - in a red baby carriage and leaving her on a sidewalk at First Ave. near 62nd St. about 3:30 p.m. yesterday.
Moments earlier, the girl's mom had stormed out of the car amid a quarrel with the dad, a police source said.
The cruel act caused an instant commotion among shocked passersby, said Francesca Porrone-Vaquero, who owns a nearby cafe.
"It was a beautiful baby," lamented Porrone-Vaquero, 51. "Poor child."
Two women comforted the infant - who was dressed in baby clothes - until authorities arrived, she added.
An FDNY ambulance whisked the tot off to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell, where she was in good condition.
"The kid is going to be fine," a Fire Department source said.
Cops were questioning the unidentified parents Sunday night. It was unclear whether they will face criminal charges, the police source said.
