Rosebank House Fire Draws Large FDNY Response - August 24, 2020

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A fire at a three-story multi-family house in Rosebank drew a large FDNY response Saturday afternoon.

The fire, which broke out on the second floor of 61 St. Mary’s Ave., was reported at 4:43 p.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.

Twelve units responded to the scene and quickly placed the fire under control by 5:08 p.m., the FDNY said.

No injuries were reported.

St. Mary’s Avenue from Tompkins Avenue to Anderson Avenue was closed to vehicular traffic during the response. Firefighters had hoses stretched across the street, while others helped direct traffic.
