STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.-- The FDNY responded Monday to a report of a fire inside a Stapleton residence.

Emergency crews were notified just before 1 p.m. of an incident at 24 Grove Street, a two-story, 20-by-30 foot building, according to a spokesman for the department.

A firefighter was transported with minor injuries to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, the spokesman said.

No civilians were injured.

More than two-dozen FDNY units and 106 firefighters were called to the scene Monday amid temperatures surpassing 90 degrees across New York City.
