14 People Injured in Bronx Apartment Building Fire: FDNY

p>HIGHBRIDGE, the Bronx — Fourteen people were injured early Saturday morning when a massive fire tore through a three-story residential building in the Bronx, according to the FDNY.

The fire broke out on the second floor at 120 W. 167th St., near Nelson Avenue in Highbridge, around 3 a.m., fire officials said.

More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before it was brought under control around 5:20 a.m., according to officials.

Two firefighters and four civilians were taken to area hospitals, officials said. The rest of the injured were treated at the scene. All of the injuries were minor, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
