BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A man's severely burned body was found in the basement of a Bed-Stuy home and another man faces questions, authorities said.

Police and firefighters found the man's body Monday afternoon inside a Jefferson Avenue home, NYPD said. They had responded to a 911 call of a fire at about 2 p.m. and discovered the man covered with severe burns in the basement.

Officers took another man, 54, into custody for questioning, authorities said. The city medical examiner is also determining the victim's cause of death.
