WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn — A vacant building partially collapsed in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn Saturday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

Scaffolding and debris rained down on the ground and some of the vehicles parked nearby on Johnson Avenue. The building was a three story undergoing a permitted major alteration project, according to the Department of Buildings.

Bricks had fallen off the construction site and landed onto a sidewalk shed below, dislodging a wooden panel at the top of the shed. Several bricks rolled off of the shed on top of a parked car, breaking a rear window.

No one was injured, according to authorities. As a result of an investigation, a Full Stop Work Order was issued to the contractors and they were ordered to make repairs to the shed and taken measures to properly secure the site.
