Fire Breaks Out in NYCHA High-Rise Apartment Building in Washington Heights: FDNY

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan — A fire broke out in a high-rise NYCHA apartment building in Upper Manhattan early Saturday morning, according to the FDNY.

Fire officials said the call came in just before 7 a.m. for a fire on the third floor of the Polo Grounds Towers at 2991 Frederick Douglass Blvd. in Washington Heights, just above West 155th Street.

After an "all hands" directive was issued for the fire, firefighters placed it under control by 7:40 a.m., the FDNY said.
