STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The FDNY battled a fire reported at a laundromat in Rosebank Friday morning.
The fire was called around 9:15 a.m. at a commercial laundromat at 393 Tompkins Ave., according to the FDNY Twitter feed.
At 9:31, the FDNY tweeted that the fire had been brought under control.
About 12 units and 60 firefighters were summoned for the “all-hands” response, according to the social media post.
“It was real quick,” said a worker at a neighboring business. “I didn’t see much smoke or fire at all.”
“Firefighters started showing up so quickly, one after another,” the witness said.
