Five-Alarm Blaze Tears Through Multiple Staten Island Homes

The FDNY battled a five-alarm blaze that ripped through several homes on Staten Island on Monday afternoon, leaving eight people injured.

At 2:56 p.m., the FDNY responded to a fire at 826 Rensselaer Ave. in the Woodrow neighborhood. The flames spread to multiple houses on Rensselaer Avenue near Foster Road, causing the Fire Department to raise it to a five-alarm call.

The blaze was brought under control at around 5:10 p.m. Monday. Fire marshals are now investigating the cause.
