According to officials, the aggressive fire broke out around 1:20 a.m. in the three-story building at 1998 Morris Ave., right at the corner of East 179th Street in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx.
Video from the Citizen App shows large flames shooting out of the roof of the three-story home.
Authorities confirmed that crews had the flames officially under control by around 2:30 a.m.
All residents of the building were thankfully able to escape without injury.
According to the American Red Cross, 18 people from three families received emergency assistance on the scene, including 11 adults who have bene displaced and are in need of emergency housing after the fire.
One firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, the FDNY said.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
