Fire marshals are investigating a deadly fire inside an abandoned Queens home on Thursday night in which three squatters were killed.
Police said that the two-alarm blaze broke out just before 11:51 p.m. on Nov. 21 at a home at 110-51 Farmers Blvd., near 110th Road, in St. Albans.
While responding to the blaze, firefighters went inside the home and found the three men unconscious and unresponsive.
All three victims were later pronounced dead by paramedics; their identities were unknown at this time.
The FDNY reported that the blaze was brought under control at around 1:35 a.m. on Nov. 22. The victims’ bodies were transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for autopsies to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, FDNY marshals are looking into what sparked the deadly inferno.
According to the Department of Buildings database, a partial vacate order has existed on the property since 2013, and it is in violation for failure to certify the correction of a serious violation.
A PropertyShark report indicates 25 open violations with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development for various building code issues such as illegal conversions.
