FDNY Says Two firefighters were sent to the hospital Friday after FDNY spent three hours putting out a Van Dam Street warehouse fire.
Firefighters rushed to 59 Van Dam St. just before 2:30 a.m. for the blaze, which broke out in a commercial warehouse a few blocks from Newtown Creek. More than 130 firefighters and 33 crews were sent to the three-alarm fire before it was put out at 5:19 a.m., an FDNY spokesperson said.
Two firefighters were hurt by the flames and sent to Wyckoff Hospital, the spokesperson said. Both of their injuries were minor.
The warehouse is home to at least three tenants, including a nonprofit organization, a contractor and a candy store.
