STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Dozens of emergency units responded to a large fire inside an Annadale home Saturday afternoon, according to an FDNY spokesman.

At approximately 3:10 p.m., firefighters were called to the blaze on Edgegrove Avenue near Drumgoole Road East, said the spokesman.

Twelve units and more than 60 firefighters responded to the all-hands blaze inside the two-story home, he said. Officials believe the fire began on the first floor of the residence, added the spokesman.

The spokesman said firefighters placed the fire under control at 3:44 p.m.

No injuries were reported from the scene, he said.

While the fire did not reportedly spread to any nearby properties, there was major exterior damage to the rear of the house following the blaze.
