STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A car lost control in Westerleigh Friday afternoon, hitting two parked vehicles, pushing one of them into a building, according to a witness and the FDNY.

The Fire Department received a call at 12:46 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident with injuries after a car crashed into a building at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Bradley Avenue, according to a spokesman.

One person was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze with non-life-threatening injuries, the spokesman said.

Witnesses at the scene described the accident as a “crazy one” and were thankful no one was seriously hurt.

Walter Daszkowski, the owner of the building that is now damaged as a result of the crash, said a red BMW lost control as the driver turned right into Bradley Avenue from Watchogue Road, hitting a stop sign and eventually crashing into the two cars parked in front of the building.

Daszkowski said he and his business partner were inside the building as they were working on finishing the office, which is going to be a CPA firm.

A gray Honda, which was badly damaged on the back right side, got pushed into the building after the BMW hit it, causing some damage to the exterior of the building.

“Thank God nobody was hurt,” Daszkowski said.
