KENSINGTON, BROOKLYN — One person was seriously hurt and two others injured when something exploded in Kensington home Monday afternoon, said the FDNY.
Emergency responders rushed to 820 Friel Place just before 1:30 p.m. after something exploded on the first floor and a fire ripped through the two-story house, an FDNY spokesperson said.
Three people were hurt by the explosion and were sent to an area hospital, said the FDNY.
Two people had minor injuries and one person was seriously hurt, but their injuries are not life-threatening, the spokesperson said.
About 60 firefighters were still trying to control the blaze around 2 p.m. The spokesperson did not know what had caused the explosion and said the fire marshal will look into the cause.
