STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Emergency officials were summoned to Great Kills after a pick-up truck slammed into a home Thursday morning.
There were no injuries in the incident, which was reported at 10:54 a.m. at 97 Redwood Ave., according to an FDNY spokesman.
Fire Department personnel had roped off and temporarily shored up the structure, which sustained significant damage.
A blue Ford F-150 pick-up truck with front-end damage was visible at the scene.
A resident of the home declined to comment.
A spokesperson from the Department of Buildings said that inspectors on the scene have issued a full vacate order for the house.
Inspectors also ordered the owner to hire a contractor to provide additional shoring to the building and construct a fence to secure the property. They were also instructed to hire an engineer to conduct a structural assessment of the house.
