A construction worker employed by a contractor was seriously injured Wednesday in an incident at a Brooklyn subway station that snarled service on the D, N and R lines, according to fire officials and the MTA.

The FDNY received a call about a worker who fell onto the tracks at the 53rd Street subway station in Sunset Park around 1:38 p.m., a fire official said. The MTA said he fell from a scaffolding on the express track, which is not in service.

The unidentified worker was rescued by first responders and taken to NYU Langone Hospital — Brooklyn with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to the fire official.

The incident caused delays on the D, N and R lines, the MTA said. Brooklyn-bound commuters at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, however, were told that the power was killed and that there was an express train stopped in the tunnel before 36th Street.
