Brooklyn Bridge Car Fire Kills 1, FDNY Says

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- One person was killed in a massive fire that erupted on the Brooklyn Bridge Wednesday morning, officials said. Flames erupted on the bridge when four cars crashed at about 7:15 a.m., according to police and the FDNY.

One person was killed and five others received minor injuries as the three cars caught fire in the Brooklyn-bound lanes, said officials.

Firefighters reported the fire had been knocked down by about 8:25 a.m., according to an FDNY tweet.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
