On Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 1100 hours, a Plaque Dedication will be held honoring the memory of Firefighter John A. Dunn, E-230, who died on November 7, 2016. The dedication will take place in the quarters of E-230, 701 Park Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.

Applications for eligible family members of the Columbia Association are being accepted for Private or Public High School and College Awards as follows:
Candidates for College Awards (12th Grade Students): Submit applications, along with a copy of the Candidate's SAT scores, before April 1, 2018. These tests must be taken in the candidates' junior or senior year of high school between September 2016 and March 2018. This must be the candidates' graduating year.

Candidates for High School Awards (8th Grade Students): Submit applications before March 1, 2018. The STS Closed High School Placement test will be given on March 4, 2018, at 1000 hours at the Fire Academy.

Eligibility: Candidates for these awards may compete if a parent (natural, step or foster) is a member in good standing of the Columbia Association. Children of deceased members who were in good standing at time of death may also compete. Grandchildren are not eligible.

The 45th Annual FDNY Firefighters Ski Races at Hunter Mountain will take place on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Proceeds will be donated to the NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. There will be a plaque dedication honoring FF William Tolley, L-135. Trophies for each 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Ski teams and Snowboard teams will be awarded along with many lottery prizes.
