FDNY cut the top off a car on Staten Island to rescue a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman trapped inside.
The car was traveling on Gannon Avenue when it hit parked vehicles at about 12:40 a.m.
The man drifted in and out of consciousness, with severe trauma, and was transported to Staten Island University North Hospital. He's in critical condition. The woman was transported to the same hospital and is in stable condition.
A resident told cops she had just pulled into her driveway about five minutes before the car crashed into it.
A commercial van that was parked was also hit and spun around from the impact.
There was also a mailbox hit and some damage to the front retaining wall of the house.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation and officials said the relationship between the driver and passenger is unknown.
