FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy Dies in Bronx House Explosion after Report of Gas Leak

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - An FDNY battalion chief responding to a report of a gas leak died after he was struck by debris in an explosion at a home in the Bronx, authorities said Tuesday.

Battalion Chief Michael Fahy, a 17-year FDNY veteran and father of three, was killed in the incident, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced at a morning news conference.
