A 93-year-old woman died of a heart attack after a fire tore through her Brooklyn building early Tuesday, officials said.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pulled out of the second floor of the three-story home on 79th St. near Fifth Ave. in Bay Ridge after the fire broke out about 1:30 a.m., according to authorities.
The blaze erupted inside an apartment on the third floor, an FDNY spokesman said.
The woman was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center in cardiac arrest and died at the hospital, officials said.
About 60 firefighters put out the blaze within half an hour, authorities said. No other injuries were reported.
Fire marshals are investigating what sparked the blaze.
