An early morning fire on Manhattan’s Upper West Side critically injured an elderly woman Sunday, fire department officials said.

The blaze broke out in the woman's apartment on the fourth floor of a twelve story building at 2508 Broadway and sent her to New York Presbyterian Hospital with severe burns.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, is currently in critical but stable condition.

No one else was hurt in the fire, which appeared to do little damage to the historic building, formerly the home of the Narragansett Hotel.

The FDNY is currently investigating the blaze.
