The position of UFA Treasurer officially vacated effective March 16, 2004. Pursuant to UFA Constitution Article VI, Section 6, the UFA President is mandated to appoint a temporary replacement to serve as interim UFA Treasurer until conclusion of the new election.
President Cassidy has appointed the current Chairman of the UFA Board of Trustees, Bronx Trustee Bob Straub, as interim UFA Treasurer to serve until the new election. Bronx Trustee Straub’s resignation from the Bronx Trustee position takes place immediately, and FF Matthew O’Brien of E-79 has been appointed as interim Bronx Trustee.
The American Arbitration Association has confirmed that new election ballots will mail to each member’s residence on April 22nd, and be counted on May 10th. The interim UFA appointees will serve in these temporary positions until May 10th, when the ballots are counted and winners announced.
Any member in good standing who wishes to announce his/her candidacy for either election must follow instructions listed in 65-2 #14 of 2004. Nominations will take place at the April 8th General Membership Meeting.
