In a massive show of solidarity, the teachers and police will be joining forces with our members as we march on City Hall and rally on Broadway next to City Hall Park. This is a mandatory call to action for all available FFs, PO's and Teachers as we fight the City, which is attempting to push a wage 'pattern' on all of us that does not in any way reflect the work we do and dangers we face while protecting the public and mentoring its children. Every off duty member is expected to attend. We encourage you to bring your family and friends. We are professionals, and we must act accordingly at all times. As you know, the eyes of the City will be upon us and our detractors will use any incident, real or imagined, to undermine our call for fair pay. T-Shirts and Posters will be distributed. Holdovers will be necessary.
General Info:
• Stage: Broadway at the south corner of City Hall Park. The stage faces uptown. The police will extend a viewing area up Broadway as far as necessary.
• Attire: 5,000 ‘Firefighters for Fair Pay’ T-Shirts will be distributed by Delegates, who will be wearing yellow ‘Delegate’ BB caps (PD will easily be able to ID you if they need help with any FF crowd issues. Each company Delegate is to pick up 12 T-shirts and a Delegate cap at UFA lobby at 204 E. 23rd St-between 2nd & 3rd aves from 2pm to 3:30pm. Distribute at the rally. The goal is to have as many members as possible wear them, and their company BB caps.
• Transportation: It is highly recommended you take mass transportation or charter busses as parking is limited. Please do not take the train to the City Hall station, as it will cause overcrowding problems at the staging area as you ascend. It is best to exit north of City Hall station.

• VIP Section: in front of the stage will be secured for all elected officials and dignitaries.
• Loudspeakers & Jumbotrons: will be spaced out along Broadway for all to see & hear.

Please do not bring large bags or back packs. Your bags may be searched at any time. No excuses. Please extend every courtesy to police officers assigned the very difficult job of policing our own!
• Barriers: For our safety, police barriers will be will be set up to keep emergency paths open. On-duty POs will staff the barriers.
Delegates’ Role:
Delegates must play an important role in insuring companies stay together and act (and speak) professionally. Delegates (or alternates) are responsible to be with company members if the press asks questions. You know which company members speak well, and which ones do not. Delegates must pick a place where your company will meet near Broadway. Check in with your delegate and stay together. All members are encouraged to make chain phone calls to as many other members they know as possible. Also, please fax the below form back.
Thank you to all company Delegates for your dedicated involvement in fighting to bring fair wages to our membership. Your leadership and encouragement are the UFA's greatest assets. Delegates: you are our shop stewards--take charge. Thank you!
