As noted in 65-2 Faxes 42R & 43, the UFA, PBA and UFT will be picketing Madison Square Garden to make clear our demands for fair compensation and our complete dissatisfaction with the unacceptable terms of the DC-37 deal – which the City wishes to force on all of us. Picketing will be staffed by Division for each 8-hour shift starting on July 19th. Each day will be staffed by three 8-hour shifts. The schedule by Division is listed on 65-2 #43. On shifts your Division is assigned, two members will be required to attend from each Company. Each Company will need to supply two persons for one 8-hour shift approximately every third day. (NOTE/CLARIFICATION: 12 x 8am shifts start at 11:59 pm of the date noted on the schedule. Please insure you show up for the correct date if you are doing a 12 x 8am shift.)

Fax Your Battalion List of Attendees to UFA

Company Delegates are to contact their Battalion Delegate and give names of members covering each date/shift your division is assigned. ONLY Battalion Delegates (or senior Delegate in his absence) fill out and fax the attached PDF form/list to the UFA at either 212-683-4359 or 212-683-0710 at least two weekdays in advance. (Only one completed form/list should be faxed per Battalion to the UFA for each shift). This list will be used for pre-planning & a check-in roster at the MSG picket site. Battalion Delegates (BD) in each Division will need to contact each other and choose a BD (or if unavailable, select a senior Company Delegate) as Supervising Coordinator/Field Marshal to supervise at each shift their Division staffs the picket at MSG. Coordinators will be supervising 50 to 80 FFs for the shift. BDs are asked to contact each other to decide who will cover each of the shifts their Division will be staffing over the 9 day period.

Members should wear their ‘Firefighters for Fair Pay’ T-Shirts. Additional shirts will be available at the site. Delegates should wear your yellow UFA caps. Refreshment locations will be designated near the picket site. More logistical info will follow shortly. Please check your fax machines each tour.
