1. FDNY Anchor Club Annual Christmas Party at Coler-Goldwater Hospital
REMINDER: On Saturday, December 4th, 10:30am, the FDNY Anchor Club will host their annual Coler-Goldwater Hospital Christmas Party at the South end of Roosevelt Island. Volunteers will be needed to assist the residents to and from the auditorium. Food, refreshments and entertainment will be provided. 2. Operation Santa: The Community Mayors
REMINDER: Attend event Wednesday, December 8th from 8:30am-1pm and/or setup December 7th at 8:30am for "Operation Santa" to help the handicapped children of NYC. It will take place at JFK Hanger #19. Volunteer parking will be available at the old Ramada Hotel located off the Van Wyck Expressway s/o Belt Parkway (shuttle buses will be provided for transportation to and from Hanger #19). Your reward will be the great feeling you get when you see the smiles on the faces of these special children. Kindly wear something FDNY. 3. Bravest Scholarship Fund Super Bowl Raffle-Deadline Extension, December 14th
The deadline to purchase Super Bowl raffle tickets benefiting the Bravest Scholarship Fund has been extended to December 14th. Tickets: $100. Tickets are available by calling (212) 293-9300. The drawing will be held on December 15th. The Bravest Scholarship Fund provides $10,000 college scholarships to every dependent child of every Firefighter and Fire Officer who dies line of duty and non-line of duty. 4. NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Scholarship
REMINDER: The NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs will be granting two $2,500 scholarships to active members of the UFA who will be enrolled in college level classes in the 2011-2012 school year. To be eligible, please list your current college standing and number of credits earned, as well as the name of the school you are / will be attending and your major. Please include a three paragraph essay on your plans once you have completed your degree. Also please describe why you should be considered for this scholarship: i.e., your contributions to the FDNY and/or your community. Completed information must be submitted in an envelope clearly labeled NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs Scholarship to Joseph Miccio, UFA Recording Secretary, at 204 E. 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010, by January 15, 2011. Note: Those who have already been awarded any other FDNY scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year will not be eligible.
