FDNY Unveils New Fire Boat

NY 1 - November 15, 2010

The new fire boat joined the New York City Fire Department's nautical fleet on Saturday. Firefighter Two sailed into New York Harbor with the help of a water display.

The $27 million boat will replace another vessel, which is assigned to Staten Island.

The new fireboat is capable of pumping 50,000 gallons of water per minute and it is designed to help protect firefighters from chemical, biological and nuclear agents.
