2. 8th Annual Chief Ray Downey Heroes Football Classic
On Saturday, October 30th the 8th Annual Chief Ray Downey Heroes Classic Football Game will be played. The Division 1-AA football game will be played at the University of Stony Brook. The Stony Brook Seawolves will play Charleston Southern at 3:00 pm. Tickets are FREE when you present your FDNY ID card as well as any Military/ Emergency Services ID. 3. Holy Name Society (Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island) High School Scholarship Test
On Saturday, December 4th, 8:30am, at All Hallows High School located at 111 East 164 Street, Bronx, NY an examination will be held for the purpose of determining winners for the scholarship. Applications can be obtained from Scholarship Chairman William Treanor by mail request to 98 Bay Street, Bronx, NY 10464 or call 718-885-0648. Completed applications must be received by Saturday, November 4, 2010.
4. 5th Annual Captain Paddy Brown (L-3) Memorial Fundraiser
REMINDER: On Saturday, November 6th from 2-6pm at Eleanor Rigby's located at 133 Mineola Blvd. Donations: $50 includes food, beverages, and T-shirt. Proceeds to benefit Building Homes for Heroes. Building Homes for Heroes provides individuals, corporations and others with an opportunity to help our severely wounded and disabled veterans and their families rebuild their lives. 5. Capt. John Drennan (L-5) & Marine 1st Lt. Nicholas Lia Memorial Football Game
On Saturday, November 6th at 7pm the 1st annual memorial football game honoring the memory of Captain John Drennan, L-5 and Marine 1st Lt. Nicholas Lia, will be held. The game will be played at Tottenville HS, 100 Luten Avenue, Staten Island, NY. Tottenville and Curtis high schools will play each other. Tickets: $5. 6. Holy Name Society Annual Memorial Mass
On Sunday, November 7th, at 9:30am, the Holy Name Society (Manhattan, Bronx and Staten Island) Annual Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 125 West 31st Street, Manhattan (across the street from E-1/L-24). All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect for the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
