REMINDER: On Friday, October 22nd, 7pm, the Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation will hold its 7th Annual Angels for Autism Dinner Dance at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset in Manhasset. The BC Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation, "Angels For Autism," offers hope to families with autistic children. Tickets: $125 per person. A raffle will also be held. 2. Fire Family Transport Foundation Fundraiser
REMINDER: On Saturday, October 23rd, from 2pm-closing at Cort Club located at 2648 Gerritsen Ave. (c/o Devon Ave.) in Brooklyn. Procceeds will help with the restoration of their 1946 mack pumper to be used as a funeral caission for non line-of-duty deaths. 4. NEW DEADLINE: 12/01/10-FF/SSGT Chris Engeldrum (L-61)Memorial Fundraiser
For the past 5 years E-66/L-61 has been running a FH/Family Trip to Arlington National Cemetery on Chris Engeldrum's birthday. However, funding has now run out and an annual raffle has been started to build up the Trip fund again. Raffle tickets: $25. Make checks payable to E66/L61. Participants not only help raise funds to visit Chris but also have a chance of winning a cash prize. 1st prize- $10,000, 2nd prize- $5,000, 3rd prize- $2,500 (**Prize amounts may vary depending on the number of tickets sold**). 5. Fight for Air Climb FF Challenge 2010
On Sunday, November 21st, 9am, at 200 Liberty Street in Manhattan, Firefighters will climb 40 stories with partial gear. Hosted by the American Lung Association, with support of Friends of Firefighters, the climb supports research, advocacy and education to study the effects of asthma, lung cancer and other lung diseases that disproportionately affect Firefighters.
