Over a hundred firefighters beat back a two-alarm Brooklyn blaze this afternoon that destroyed a two-story home and sent five Bravest to the hospital, officials said.

The fire at 52nd Street and Third Avenue broke out at 2:17 p.m. and raged for about an hour before it was brought under control, a Fire Department spokesman said..

One resident of the building suffered minor injuries and was taken to nearby Lutheran Hospital, and five firefighters were hurt and were taken to Maimonides Medical Center. In all, 106 firefighters and 25 vehicles battled the fire.

The cause is still under investigation.
