An investigation is underway to determine what sparked a church fire that injured several people in the Bronx early Sunday morning.
Investigators say the four-alarm fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. at Love Gospel Assembly on Grand Concourse in Fordham.
The fire was brought under control about two hours later.
Fire officials say the two-story church was unoccupied at the time, although three civilians were injured.
A hotel next door, which was used by the city as a shelter for the homeless, was also badly damaged.
Parishioners who spoke with NY1 at the scene say the church runs a soup kitchen that has fed some four million people over the past four decades. They say they're heartbroken over the loss but are vowing to rebuild.
