1. FF Marty Simmons Memorial Beach BBQ
REMINDER: On Wednesday, July 21st from 6-10 pm, the 2nd Annual FF Marty Simmons Memorial Beach BBQ will be held at Sunken Meadow Pavilion, Kings Park, NY. The event will feature music, food, and unlimited beverages. Tickets are $55 per adult; $47 (age 13-20) and $25 per child (age 6-12). All proceeds to benefit the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation and Smithtown Youth Programs. To make reservations, please make checks payable to: Marty Simmons Memorial Fund and mail to: Judi Simmons, 111 Uncas Street, Nesconset, NY 11767. Payment on the night of the event will be accepted, however early registration is preferred.


2. Wounded Warrior Soldier Ride
REMINDER: On Thursday, July 22nd from 7am-10pm at 70th Street (btwn 18th & 19th Ave.) in Brooklyn where the wounded warriors will cross the finish line (race begins at Macy's 34th Street in Manhattan). Volunteers are needed to set up tables, tents, and work the grills, assist some of the wounded warriors and other things. Suggested donation: $10 for adults, $5 for children. Checks are preferred and can be made payable to the Wounded Warrior Project. Persons interested in volunteering should contact Lynda Thomson at thomsolm@fdny.nyc.gov. 3. Lt. John Murray (E-165) Street Dedication
REMINDER: On Saturday, July 24th at 2pm at the corner of Manor Road and Kingsley Avenue in Staten Island there will be a street dedication to Lt. John Murray (E-165). The street will be renamed Lt. John "Muzz" Murary Way.


4. 33rd Annual Police/Fire 5-Mile Run
REMINDER: On Saturday, July 24th, at 9am, the 33rd Annual Police/Fire Run will be held in Central Park. All active and retired members are eligible to participate (guests may run, but without a number). Race starts at East 103rd Street in Central Park. Registration is at P.S. 171 located at East 103rd Street (btwn 5th & Madison Avenues). Registration: $20. Registration can also be done online at www.eventsonline.ca/events/nypd_fire. 5. 32nd Anniversary Of The Waldbaum's Fire
On Monday, August 2nd at 10:30am, E-276/L-156, E-254/L-153, B-33 and B-42 will hold a memorial mass commemorating the 32nd anniversary of the Waldbaum's Fire at St. Brendan's Church located at 1202 Avenue O, Brooklyn, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
