1. FDNY Emerald Society Sunset Cruise

2. Lt. John M. Clancy/FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Lt. John Clancy/FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Scholarship Fund will award ten $1000 scholarships and five $2000 scholarships to college bound children of active firefighters and officers of the FDNY. One $1000 scholarship will be chosen exclusively from the eligible students whose FDNY parent participates in this year's golf outing. The awards will be randomly selected at the 15th annual Lt. John Clancy/FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Golf Outing to be held on Thursday, July 29th at Rock Hill Country Club, Manorville, NY. The 15th annual Lt. John Clancy/FF Jimmy O'Shea Memorial Golf Outing is the primary tool for funding the scholarships. The outing is all-inclusive and costs $175. Tee and Hole sponsorships cost $100. To be eligible for the scholarships, you must provide all the information on the application which was attached to Dept Order #47, with proof of enrollment for the Fall 2010 semester. Deadline for scholarship applications is July 20, 2010.
3. A-Team Scholarship
The family and friends of Lt. Joseph Cavalieri, FF Christopher Bopp and FF James Bohan have established an A-Team Scholarship in their memory. The scholarship will award a freshman entering a private high school in September 2010 five hundred ($500) dollars each year. The student must submit an essay describing why they want to attend the particular private high school. The student must maintain a C or better average throughout high school. The scholarship competition is open to any child of an active or retired member of the UFA or UFOA. Applicants must submit an essay with parent's name, address, phone number and work unit. Postmark deadline to submit essay is August 15, 2010. All information must be submitted to A-Team Scholarship FDNY, P.O. Box 360-395, Brooklyn, New York 11236.
4. SBF Benefits for College Students
In order to receive SBF benefits, parents of children attending college need to provide the Security Benefit Fund (SBF) with the following: 1. A letter EACH SEMESTER from the school registrar, ON SCHOOL LETTERHEAD, listing the student's name and acknowledging he/she is taking 12 or more credits. 2. A copy of a paid tuition bill from the college for each semester. These items are necessary for the SBF to provide the proper benefits to the children of firefighters.
