1. Lt. John P. Murray (E-165) Plaque Dedication
On Wednesday, May 19th at 11am, a Plaque Dedication will be held honoring the memory of Lieutenant John P. Murray, E-165, who died on April 30, 2008. The Dedication will take place in the quarters E-165/L-85, located at 3067 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
2. FF Timothy G. Lockwood (E-275) Plaque Dedication
On Thursday, May 27th at 11am, a Plaque Dedication will be held honoring the memory of Firefighter Timothy G. Lockwood, E-275, who died on May 27, 2009. The dedication will take place in the quarters E-275/L-133, located at 111-36 Merrick Blvd., Jamaica, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
3. FDNY Anchor Club Annual Picnic at Coler-Goldwater Hospital
On Thursday, June 3rd, 10am, the FDNY Anchor Club will host their annual picnic at the Coler-Goldwater Hospital on the south end of Roosevelt Island. 4. 10th Annual FDNY Night
Friday, July 23rd at 7pm, the Brooklyn Cyclones will play the Staten Island Yankees at MCU (KeySpan) Park, 1904 Surf Ave. Tickets range from $10 to $15. Tickets are being sold online at www.brooklyncyclones.com. Go to Tickets, then Ticket Discounts & Specials, click on Promotional Codes, enter FDNY. There will be pre-game activities beginning at 6:30pm. Proceeds go to the UFA Scholarship Fund if you buy your ticket online. 5. 7th Annual Lt. Thomas Kelly (E-219/L-105) Memorial Golf Outing
Friday, July 23rd at Cherry Creek Golf Course, Riverhead, NY. Tickets: $170 includes practice range, gift, BBQ lunch, shotgun start, golf & cart, refreshments on the course, dinner, open bar, prizes & awards. 6. SBF Benefits for College Students
In order to receive SBF benefits, parents of children attending college need to provide the Security Benefit Fund (SBF) with the following: 1. A letter EACH SEMESTER from the school registrar, ON SCHOOL LETTERHEAD, listing the student's name and acknowledging he/she is taking 12 or more credits. 2. A copy of a paid tuition bill from the college for each semester. These items are necessary for the SBF to provide the proper benefits to the children of firefighters.
