1. Lt. John Bellew Memorial Run
REMINDER: On Saturday, April 17th, at 10am, the Lt. John G. Bellew Memorial 5K run will be held at the Pearl River Volunteer Firehouse, 58 Central Avenue, Pearl River, NY. Registration fee: $25 for adults, $10 for children under 12. Post race party includes food, beverage and entertainment. All proceeds go to the Lt. John G. Bellew Scholarship Fund. 2. Chief Tim O'Neil Fundraiser
On Sunday, April 18th from 1-5pm at the Staaten located at 697 Forest Ave, Staten Island. Tickets: $75 per person includes dinner, auction, and raffles. Proceeds go to Chief Tim O'Neil and his family as he copes with a long-term bacterial infection of the spine. 3. 3rd Annual Heroes Run
On Sunday, April 18th at 9am at Hewlett Point Park, 130 Hewlett Point Ave., there will be a 5K run/walk. Registration begins at 7am. 4. No Limit Texas Hold 'Em
REMINDER: On Friday, April 23rd at 7:30pm at The Sports Club Gjoa located at 850 62nd St. (Btwn. 8th & 9th Ave.) Brooklyn, NY. Buy in: $100 includes buffet and beverages. 5. FDNY/NYPD Racquetball Tournament
REMINDER: On Saturday, April 24th & Sunday, April 25th, the FDNY/NYPD Racquetball Tournament will be held at Club Fit, 584 North State Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY. 6. Fire Bell Club Scholarship Award Application
REMINDER: Applications for the Fire Bell Club Scholarship Award are now available. Applications can be obtained from Ms. Jacqueline Merveil, FDNY Registrar, at 718-281-8465. Eligibility: (1) Applicants must be active FF's 5th Grade and above & Officers who have been accepted or are attending an accredited institution of higher learning. (2) FF's/Officers who are pursuing a degree in Fire Service Administration, Public Service Management, Nursing or a related Fire Service discipline and who have completed a minimum of twelve credits. Applicants must submit a written statement of 500 words explaining why an applicant should be considered for award. Award: $500. Deadline: April 30th.
