NYPD squares off against FDNY as the "Battle of the Badges" returns to Madison Square Garden:

After 22 years, the "Battle of the Badges" is set to return to the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden. The NYPD will go head-to-head in the ring with the FDNY on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Tickets, which are currently on sale, are priced at $65, $50 and $30 and can be purchased at the Madison Square Garden Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.thegarden.com

"New York's Bravest against New York's Finest at The World's Most Famous Arena just doesn't get any better," said Bob McGuire, FDNY head boxing coach. "Sept. 25 is going to be a special night to remember."

"We are simply thrilled to be facing our rival at the Mecca of Boxing," said Lt. Dave Siev, NYPD head boxing coach. "We are going to take this opportunity and show the world that not all cops spend their time eating doughnuts."

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the New York Firefighters Benevolent Association and the NYPD Fighting Finest.

Mighty hit with the Tigers Wednesday night. Today it's the Rockies (both). The surplus is 825 sirignanos.
