A copy of Steve Cassidy's interview on New York 1's Road to City Hall was mailed to each firehouse yesterday. It is a CD-ROM format, not a DVD, and will play on a computer-not a TV.
Steve answers many important questions regarding FDNY Budget cuts, manning, recent pension media falsehoods, inaccurate press re Firefighter OT, announced Firehouse closings, possible layoffs and many matters of importance to all NYC Firefighters. The UFA Executive Board strongly urges all members to watch this CD. Also, Commissioner Scoppettta did a follow up NY1 interview on April 3rd addressing some of the same topics this CD covers. Reminder: New Union Meeting Date April 21st
No Union Meeting Tomorrow
As per the notice sent on March 27th, the April 9th Union Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 21st at 10am. It will not be at the JFK Ramada. The meeting will be at Terrace on the Park, in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, which will accommodate a larger number of members with parking. The Executive Board is highly recommending that Company Delegates bring all members hired in the last 2 years. Many matters of high importance, including family health coverage if layoffs should occur, will be discussed and addressed. Once again, it is extremely important that recently hired members attend. Member ID cards must be presented at the door.
