1. Plaque Dedication
On Friday, February 20th, at 11am, a plaque dedication will be held honoring the memory of Captain Steven R. Jaeger, L-117 who died on February 21, 2008. The dedication will take place in the quarters of E-263 and L-117, located at 42-06 Astoria Blvd., Astoria, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
2. King of the Ice Hockey Tournament
REMINDER: On Monday, February 23rd, The King of the Ice Hockey Tournament is scheduled to begin. Applications are available online at www.fdnykingoftheice.com. Efforts will be made to accommodate all team entries; the first 96 teams will be guaranteed spots. Any questions regarding the tournament should be directed to Pat Cleary at 516-650-7719.
3. 2nd Annual YMCA Fireman's Race
On Friday,February 27th, 6-9pm & Saturday, February 28th, at 11:30am the YMCA of Sullivan County will host it's 2nd annual Fireman's Race at the Holiday Ski & Fun Park. A youth division has also been added this year. Registration: $250 per FF Team, $150 per Youth Team. Discounted tickets will be available for lift tickets, $25, and ski rentals, $20, if needed. 4. NJ Nets Half Price Ticket Offer
REMINDER: Discounted tickets are now available for 6 select NJ Nets basketball games at the IZOD Center played Feb. 10th thru April 11th (dates: Feb. 10th, March 1st, 8th, April 1st & 11th). 5. FDNY Bravest Boxing Team To Host Dublin Fire Brigade
On Thursday, March 12th at 8pm the FDNY Bravest Boxing Team will host the Dublin Fire Brigade in the 1st Annual Transatlantic Boxing Championships. The event will take place at BB King Blues Club & Grill located at 237 W. 42nd Street, Manhattan. A limited number of tickets are now available through Ticketmaster (212) 307-7171.
