1. FF Roger T. Peterson (L-137) Plaque Dedication
On Friday, January 2nd at 11am, a plaque dedication will be held honoring the memory of FF Roger T. Peterson (L-137) who died on January 3, 2008. The dedication will take place in the quarters of E-268/L-137, located at 257 Beach 116 Street, Rockaway Beach, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
2. Lt. John H. Martinson (E-249) Plaque Dedication
On Saturday, January 3rd at 9am, a plaque dedication will be held honoring the memory of Lt. John H. Martinson (E-249) who made the supreme sacrifice on January 3, 2008. The dedication will take place in the quarters of E-249/L-113, located at 491 Rogers Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend as a mark of respect to the deceased. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
3. UFA 4th Annual MDA Week
Sunday, January 25th-Saturday, January 31st members are asked to participate in this fund raising effort, $1 per member per meal program, to help those afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy. Donations received from this go directly to those in our area including many of our own member's families. All donations can be sent to the MDA:

4. The Charles H. Revson Fellows Program
Charles H. Revson applications are now available for the Fellowship year September 2009 to May 2010. There are no educational prerequisites for the Fellowship. Candidates who are accepted must spend three days a week engaged in a program of study at Columbia University and two days a week working for FDNY. Applications are only available online at www.columbia.edu/cu/revson. The applications are due at Columbia by February 1, 2009. However, you are required to submit a copy of your application package to Mrs. Jacqueline Merveil, FDNY Registrar, Fire and Life Safety/Administrative Center, 401 Murray Avenue, Fort Totten, NY 11359. Also, if accepted by Columbia, you must inform Mrs. Merveil (718)281-8465; jbradnoje@fdny.nyc.gov.
